Detirmined

So, we are determined not to let wedding talk take over our lives but my goodness there is so much to do! I did not realise it would be so difficult! Every day someone asks if we have sorted the x or y yet and we think 'I didn't know about that bit!'

I finally managed to find a phone number for the church today, as they are between vicars it was not an easy task! I phoned to discuss the possibility of us holding the service there and spoke with a very nice man indeed. He was extremely helpful and cheery and I imagined him with lovely rosy cheeks and a big wide smile. I also pictured him supping on a cup of tea from the very finest white china teacup. He was so friendly, even showing excitement when we discovered we share the same house number! When faced with speaking to such a nice rosy, cheery, excitable man I found myself saying 'Oh how lovely!' more than once. It was very odd as this is not something I would usually say. Thankfully it was in context, I do not think he would recommend us for using the church had it been randomly placed in the conversation. 'Can I take your name and address please?' 'Oh how lovely, yes let's do that!' for example. Was something in my subconscious thinking this made me sound more Christian and therefore more eligible to use his church? Perhaps my inner voice thought I sounded nice, rosy and wide smiling too? I shall be on the lookout for other peculiar exclamations as the wedding plans progress. Maybe 'jolly good', 'Gracious!' or 'Tally Ho!' will creep in next?

But at least it is not to the level of 'Yoo-hoo!' eh Mary ;)

Well it is official, my banns said I was a 'spinster of this parish!.' Therefore 'yoohoo' is allowed in my vocabulary, as is 'my word' and 'Look at the state of her..' I am looking forward to using these in the near future.

What about 'ooh well I never'? Surely that has to be allowed also?
