Bonhomie

Well this is the last day of the Easter holiday. The time out of the office was much needed. Having spent most of the last term poorly, tired and stressed, my mind and body have relished the opportunity to breathe easily again. My heart rate seems to have slowed, I have slept, I have smiled. Having got over the obligatory holiday illness (this time a nasty cold) I am all but ready to go back and face the two weeks of revision before the kids face their exams. It is a tough couple of weeks for us both. < rant >I hate the exams they have to do. They are 10/11 years old and face a whole week of exams - it is too much. They are children and as much as we are forced to make them grow up too soon, they are children and should not be facing any of it. Teacher assessment at this age is much more accurate anyway. What 10/11 year old is going to perform to their best in exam conditions? It makes me very cross.< /rant >

Anyway. As I say, pretty much ready to head back to it.

It has been a good break. We have visited friends, family, Arsenal and rare breeds. We have given gifts, invested in new glasses, received gifts, watched films, made art type things, won more quizzes, watched good comedy, been on mini-adventures (even if the goats were closed for the winter), done housework, been swimming and (partially) completed school work.

However, today, the final day of the break holds little fun and wonder. School work, a potentially frustrating day for my beautiful boy, more housework, catching up with washing etc and mentally preparing for a return to work.

Topical item ...you are not allowed to wire a plug without getting certification from an electrician now..so why would kids know? It isn't legal to teach it! *sigh

Love to Mr Kris, hope you are feeling better x
