Deano's Lucky Red Shirt

Well done to England on two counts...firstly for ensuring that I left work earlier than usual today and secondly for managing a very flattering scoreline against Switzerland this evening. 3-0 is a good enough win - but hardly indicative of performance was it? We have to put it down to Dean's lucky red shirt. But as he himself asked me...should he wash it before the next game?...or will he be washing the luck away?

I always wash the Arsenal sock combination - so it should be ok? What do you think? Wash it or not wash it? Vote now :)

Once again we reach Thursday and a nothing weekend looms ahead. Anyone know what the weather is going to be like? I would look it up but I am chained to school work currently. Anyone fancy whisking the little speckledgoat off somewhere fun this weekend?

*yawn, back to reports I guess. I will NOT work until the small hours tonight, I wont! I wont! I wont! (stamps hoof)

I believe you should never wash lucky items of clothing. The Capt. of my Sunday team has a pair of lucky pants that have not been washed since the season we started bout 8 seasons ago, they are now in a very bad way and can only be worn for special occasions (semi finals, finals or league deciders) but the worse they get the more lucky they are. Nonetheless I can not qualify my theory with any scientific explanation. Sorry.

Hrm, I think you may be right - although the lucky socks are washed regularly...and we did win the league this year...at White Hart Lane I think it was ;)

I think your socks back up my argument, tho' the socks are lucky and helped Arsenal win the league at WHL, I believe had you not washed them and thus washed away part of their luck you may have gone one better and actually won the match at WHL as well as the title, alas the small amount of luck washed off the socks allowed lowly Spurs to grab a rather fortunate (but well deserved on our 2nd half performance) late penalty and get the draw.

To be honest, I first wore it in the game against the swiss, washed it, then wore it against crotia (put it on when we went 1-0 down!!) and we then turned the game around... I will not wash it for the Portugal game because I cant be bothered... the luck will come!!
