Champions #2

Went to the Arsenal yesterday, this time with mother which was nice for a change. Even though she insisted on telling lots of people she was my mum ;) Atmopshere was great as it was the first home game since taking the title. Shame the game was a bit dull really. Still unbeaten though and we did mangage to get Keown on even it it was close. Visited the World's End after the game rather than before as it was an early KO and the wonder that is Gadget was smooth enough to ask me for ID - bless him, then to call me by my name for every order after and to inform me I was just the right age for him...etc.etc Shame I wont be back there until next season now ;)

Many amusing people on the train on the way home - including a trio of 'individuals' from what they called 'acne' which one assumes is 'Hackney' A chap walked past and thanked them for moving aside in a rather effeminate voice, they were being very homophobic so, being me I asked them why it was an issue. Silence. Much blinking. 'erm' more silence. 'dont know really' It probably didnt help that I was reading a copy of Maxim that was being handed out outside the Arsenal as I had read the programme and finished my book...but they could not give me an answer as to why it was an issue - I was happy. They continued their amusing discussions on being from 'acne' and how hard that made them compared to the country bumpkins on the train and then one asked if we were in Kent yet. I replied yes and the girl became most excited and tried to spot what I can only assume must be what she considered countryside from the windows. Then the two lads competitive side must have kicked in as an attempt to win fair maidens heart and they began to boast about the places in Kent they had been...'yeah, I bin to Sittingbourne innit' says one. 'Yi I bin to Dartford innit, that's near Kent.' You can imagine my amusement - 'Near Kent?' I asked, 'not in it?' More blinking as this question was digested...was 'innit' a proper noun and somewhere they had not heard of? 'yeah near innit?' said a now much smaller voice., 'or maybe innit' my turn to blink as I attempted to work out whether 'innit' was 'innit', 'Innit' or 'in it' ;) Bless them. It's not their fault. They alighted at Sittingbourne with wide excited eyes at the prospect of being in the country. Oh how disappointed they must have been :) I must have been like that once ;)

Today is quiet. Tomorrow brings mother.
